Funeral Timing

Typically, a Jewish funeral occurs as soon as possible. For the most observant, the funeral may take place the same day, circumstances permitting. For others, the funeral usually takes place within a few days of death. Funerals are scheduled to be compatible with the availability of family, clergy and the mortuary and cemetery.
